Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 5MP Digital Camera
A Panasonic LUMIX camera is your best friend! Our MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) - a Panasonic Original - suppresses handshake, giving you remarkably clear, sharp shots even in situations where blurring is typically a problem! Jitter from shaky hands is far and away the biggest single cause of blurry shots. LUMIX cameras help solve this problem with advanced MEGA O.I.S. (optical image stabilizer) technology. Its performance has gained in both speed and precision with the developed Venus Engine Plus LSI.
The LUMIX cameras also feature two correction modes to meet different shooting needs. 'Mode 1' continuously compensates for jitter. In this mode image stabilization is constantly on, and helps you to compose shots in the LCD monitor. 'Mode 2', a Panasonic original, corrects the image the moment the shutter button is pressed, providing maximum compensation in all directions. Since the light is received near the center of the lens, this mode gives you clearer, sharper pictures and higher resolution. MEGA O.I.S. helps achieve high-quality images in a wide range of shooting conditions such as telephoto, macro or low illumination; for situations from spur-of-the-moment shots, to self-portraits, shooting with one hand, or capturing images outdoors at night.

Features
- 5 Megapixel Effective Camera: For high quality image resolution, you get more out of 5 Megapixel.
- 6X Optical Zoom: Use the 6x optical zoom (equivalent to 37 mm to 222 mm in a 35mm film camera) together with the 4x digital zoom to enjoy up to 24x zoom power, which approximates an 888 mm zoom lens on a 35 mm camera, with a body size as compact as an ordinary 3x optical zoom camera. As digital magnification increases, resolution significantly decreases.
- 2.0" TRM LCD Monitor: This bright 2.0" LCD monitor is easy to see. Its TRM (Transmissive with Micro Reflective) design reflects a certain amount of light to let you see your subject clearly even when shooting outdoors.
- Venus Engine Plus LSI: The newly developed Venus Engine Plus boosts shooting performance by
reducing power consumption by about 50% compared with the Venus Engine and improving both noise reduction and response speed. Noise in dark areas is reduced to as little as one-third without affecting the image quality in bright areas.
- Super-Fast Shutter Response: Multi-task image processing in the Venus Engine Plus LSI has accelerated response speed, giving you more comfortable shooting with a release time lag of 0.008 second minimum.
- Extended Shooting from Two AA Batteries: For convenience, the DMC-LZ2 can be powered by two AA size batteries. The newly supplied Oxyride batteries let you take about 235 photos with the DMC-LZ2. Alkaline batteries let you take about 150 photos with the DMC-LZ2, and nickel hydride batteries let you take about 390 photos with the DMC-LZ2.
- MEGA Burst Consecutive Shooting: With the DMC-LZ2, you can snap off consecutive shots at 3 frames per second with full resolution. In addition, the Unlimited Consecutive Shooting function lets you continue shooting until the memory card or the built-in memory is full.
- Built-in Memory: Take photos even when you don't have an SD Memory Card on hand. The built-in memory holds up to 14MB of image data, which you can later copy onto an SD Memory Card or PC. You can also copy images from a memory card or PC to the built-in memory, and view them on the LCD anytime you like.
